I MUST Have Lost My Mind!!

I really and truly think I've lost my mind. I keep saying I don't have time to do what I need to do now--in all actuality I just don't make time for what I need to do. But I have committed myself to joining 3 different groups of quilters complete quilts! I must be crazy.

  1. The first one I committed to sounded easy enough--the Make-It-Up-as-You-Go-Along Quilt with full instructions from Kim and the You Can Make This blog! I figure if I can do what she tells us to do for each step, then I can do that quilt easy enough.
  2. The second one sounded just as easy--although I'm finding that to be a little more involved (or maybe I'm making it that way) than I originally thought. A calendar quilt. Hmmm, how hard could it be to sew one square or strip to another each day? One square or strip for each day of the year. Simple right? Unless you start having ideas like I did of machine embroidering important dates and events onto the different squares signifying the date! Well we'll see if I get past the section a day before we worry about adding stuff to it!
  3. And third, I agreed to sew 9 squares (a design of my choosing, so it can be EASY) all in the same color pallette of light blues to be swapped to get a total of nine squares (one in each of 9 colors (or shades if you will) in the rainbow. Sounded cool, sounded easy.

Now, here I sit wondering if I've lost my mind. Yet at the same time, I have already (virtually) met some wonderful people by checking out others blogs that are doing the same quilts as I am and by signing up for the quilting adventures. Yes, I will call it an adventure. I've never taken on anything like this before, so we will see where it leads! I should be cutting out my calendar units (or at least choosing what fabrics I want to use) for the calendar quilt. If I get that decided this evening, I'll come back with pictures before calling it a night. If not, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to do that!

I know the problem, having entered too many swaps over a short period of time. But we'll definitely manage!

If you've lost your mind, it must be with mine somewhere. I have never committed to so many things at one time before because I am a procrastinator. But I have managed to get the calendar quilt up to date, and I too have lots of ideas of how to do this. I'll try to get some pics up today and show you. How do you get your pics to post within your posting? Mine always go to the top of the post. Anyway, will be checking back with ya.

Well I'm glad that my mind will not be lonely on another planet of being too committed! I'm glad that we're all in this together to keep each other company! That's why I've put myself as a follower of so many of the blogs--that way I can see the progress (and other neat crafty things y'all are doing as well)y'all are making and hopefully be able to show the progress I'm making as well.
As far as getting the pictures where you want them? Well, the pictures DO start at the top when I insert them. I just click on the picture and drag it down to the location that I want it! Then I go back to the top of the page and delete all the extra spaces that were caused by me moving the picture. I know that is clear as mud, but Carlotta, I hope that helps you some.
Crafting/Quilting together,
