Hubby Has Joined the Fun!!!

I can't hardly believe it--well I should believe it; but still---Hubby has joined in the fun of the calendar quilt with me! I had the first 4 empty blocks of the calendar square of January complete and then the first three days of January all sewn together. Don't have the machine embroibery on it yet, but I had that first week sewn together. On the way home from work today, I asked if he would join me in making this OUR calendar quilt. He said that he could do that--but he didn't want to sew it! He can sew, but he doesn't like to do it if he doesn't have to!

Well after supper tonight, he came into my inner sanctum (otherwise known as my sewing room) and started going through fabrics. He is the one that found the dove for a Sunday, the apples for the teacher for me starting back to school after Christmas holidays, the Orca whale since we started a unit on Tuesday, the multi-colored shimmer fabric (that doesn't show up in the picture real well) for our Krewe of Harlequin (that's a group of people that get together to celebrate Mardi Gras--and for those of you that don't know what Mardi Gras is, well then, I guess you'll have to look back at last year's posts to see what Mardi Gras is all about!) meetings. And because it is colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra (for South Mississippi), he chose Minnie building a snowman for today! As a joke he chose fish for Friday. I said, "Dave, it isn't even Lent yet and we're not Catholic so we DON'T dispense of eating meat on Fridays." He said, "Yeah, I know, but I think we should have a few FISH FRIDAYS on the quilt anyway. So, this Methodist family that doesn't abstain from eating meat is having fish Fridays every once in a while on the quilt--as far as eating it? Well, I don't eat fish, at least not the normal fish--tuna from a can, yes; crab meat, shrimp, crawfish, yes; salmon--only if I don't know that's what it is!

ANYWAYS.....
OK I'm hooked into BLOGGING again! Gee what a surprise for a jabbermouth like me. Whether anyone reads it or not, at least I've finally got somewhere to talk and talk and it doesn't matter!

The picture is two fold. First of all, this is the picture of my calendar quilt (up through today!). I KNOW, not the best picture. But it at least gives me a taste of what it will look like! I also know that there are 4 extra squares in it--I do know that today is only the 12th! But to make it look more like a "real calendar" I wanted to start it out looking like a calendar! And the first 4 days of that week were in December 2008. Yes, I know that's not part of this month. If I ever get the whole thing finished, it will hopefully make more sense.
Blue Mondays

"Rainy days and Mondays always get me down...."
Ok, so they don't really, but that was the only thing that came to mind about Mondays other than a song I can't remember the lyrics to but went something like "Blue Monday, can it be? Look what you've done to me? Anyone out in cyber land remember the words to this or if I am even close to the words?

It also shows BLUE!! for BLUE Mondays. I found this through another blog and ended up going to Sally's blog and signed in for BLUE MONDAYS!!

There are 7 of the squares in the calendar quilt there that are primarily BLUE.
The BLUE of the TurboTax (dun, dun, dun) that we will need to be doing as soon as we get all the forms in from everywhere that we need. The sooner the better!!!!
Thought I'd show off a bit of the house as well that has blue in it! Although since I keep losing my internet connection tonight, I might have to wait until next week to add the pics of the house! But at least I got my blue quilt squares in for today's Blue Monday!

Carlotta hun, you can read it any day you like. I'm glad I can give you a smile every once in a while.

Dawn, thanks for the compliments on the fabrics. I've got so much fabric in so many boxes, bins, etc., it just takes TIME to find what I'm looking for. And in the process makes a mess. So much for me thinking my sewing room was organized when I actually got to HAVE a sewing room again.
