Rainy Days & Mondays Always Get Me.....

Hmmm Doesn't the lyric say, "Rainy days and Mondays always get me down"? Well, if that's the case I guess today would be the day for that. It is after all, a Monday. It has rained all day. And well the day was a good one until I had the sky fall on me! No I'm not Chicken Little running around crying, "the sky is falling the sky is falling!" But none the less, I feel like the sky has fallen on me. I received the news today that my 20 year-old-daughter is pregnant--the one WITHOUT a steady boyfriend. The one that the "father," and we'll use that term loosely for now, doesn't have a job and sleeps on a friend's couch instead of having a place of his own. I haven't figured out if I should be excited, anxious, upset, happy, all of the above or if I even know what I am feeling right now--if anything. I think I'm numb!

On to the rest of the day. Today is Blue Monday. I need a bit of cheering up. So I will show you something that almost always cheers me up (well except when the stove looks a mess and the sink is piled high with dishes!)!! I hope you're ready for this. If you thought the rest of my house (that you've seen so far) has color, you haven't seen anything yet! Shall we continue with the tour of the house? THIS is my kitchen! You will notice that around the top of my kitchen is blue and that each of the cabinets are red, BLUE, green, and yellow!

As you can see, our love for Disney continues from the diningroom (that I showed last Monday) into and throughout the kitchen. Each cabinet has a Disney character painted in the middle. That is nemo and the coral reef under the kitchen skink and Pooh and his pals are under the stove top. Oh, and I see Jaspar, one of 5 cats snuck into one of the pictures! If you look real close, you can even see that our glasses and dishes are Disney as Mickey is waving at you! Each of the drawers have mirror imaged BLUE Mickeys as well. And with the exception of a few things on the BLUE tile floor, you actually have pictures of it fairly clean as well! LOL I hate to have cluttered counters and dirty dishes--but for some reason, the dishes keep getting dirty and the counters get things piled on them. Other than to stop cooking and eating, any ideas how to stop that? LOL Just kidding!

I am sorry you've had such a stressful Monday.

While my kids are not old enough to cause me the stress yours has (well technically I guess one of them is, but since he's only 15...umm no, I can't go there) I can only imagine the emotions you are feeling.

On a brighter note,(literally) I LOVE your kitchen! It is my favorite room you've shown so far. It must be so much fun to cook in there. Even doing the dishes would be more exciting, LOVE IT!!

I definitely have not seen anything like this kitchen yet! I admire you for doing this, Shelly. It brings a big smile to my face. I hope you feel much better soon about all the big things that are making you blue!

Oh my Shelly, that is one colorful kitchen. My first thought was Alice in Wonderland. I love it!

As far as your daughter goes my emotions were, 1) Oh no Shelly, I'm so sorry, I just can't imagine my babies are so small. Then 2) Congratulations Shelly you're going to be a grandma. Then I'm like Holly 3) Just try and be there for her, she's still so young though she thinks she's not and will need you now more than ever.

Wow those cabinets are amazing! How cheerful. Things seem really stressful right now but it won't be long until a new family member is telling everyone that, "my grandma has the COOLEST KITCHEN!!!"

I think you're right. A bit anxious, a bit scared, happy, but terrified. But hey, those emotions go for any pregnancy! :)
Everything will work out, and just be blessed that a new little life is coming that will change your world.

Ok, your kitchen is wonderful. Seriously woman, you really have a rainbow house!!
I love it! You can totally tell from your house that your personality is just as bright as your color scheme! I'm jotting down ideas for my house! :)
Thanks for sharing!
